Easter Weekend

I've always loved Easter - what could be better then chocolate, sleep ins, rainy days and four days off? Well, sunny days would be nice, considering we never get to ride in Queensland anymore.
I hate this stupid rain! I mean I know I said I love Easter, and if I wasn't horse obsessed this whole rain thing wouldn't be a problem - it's the fact that I'm horse-crazy and also dieing of boredom.
Anyway, we've been looking for a horse for me because I'm incredibly bored at the moment.
Let me sum up the situation:

- We have a 7 year old Thoroughbred, who I have fallen off too many times to count in the last 4 months. There was a lot of emotional stuff involved with him and everytime I fell off I just become more and more hurt and dissapointed in myself. Not good.
- I stopped riding him.
- Where we adjist is also a riding school, so they said I could use the school ponies as my own, which is fair enough. I've been riding heaps and I don't have to worry about being left out because I know there will always be a pony for me.
- However, I am now completely bored by them. It would be okay if some of them were a little bit crazy or even young, but they're all old, calm and docile. Which isn't pushing my learning the way it should be.

So what to do?
Get me a project horse, Mummy!

I've only been riding for four months, but I have come such a long way in that time. Our Thoroughbred taught me one thing - how to stick. We've been looking at some horses to buy but we're not totally sure and we don't want to rush in to anything.

We saw this 3 1/2 year old, Stock Horse X gelding who was an absolute sweetie and dead quiet. Obviously, we'd have to be very careful about getting him because he's so young. I wouldn't want to ruin him but Mum said if we do end up getting him she'll make sure we get professional help. I think it's exciting, but I'm also incredibly worried about doing something wrong.
We also so this 16 hh 10 yo Thoroughbred gelding who was also DEAD quiet. Like... so sooo quiet. This horse came galloping and bucking up to him and he just stood there and looked. The only thing is he's just another big Thoroughbred, and my confidence has been knocked enough.

Overall, I don't think either of them are for me. The young one is really green and I think he would be better of in professional hands and the older one is absolutely perfect, but I feel as if I want something just that bit smaller so I can get my confidence.
I've found two other horses that I would consider so we'll keep looking and thinking for the moment.
Catch ya later!

Big Welcome!

Hello all, my name is Luchia and this is my blog.
I mostly wanted this blog so I could keep a record of what training I've done with which horses and it's also a good way to monitor training patterns (ie. techniques that worked etc.)
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to writing in this thing so I'll update it very soon!
